Chicago named Best Big U.S. City by Condé Nast Traveler for ninth year

Chicago has been named the Best Big U.S. City for the ninth consecutive year by readers of Condé Nast Traveler. The city has held this title each year since 2017, according to the magazine’s annual survey.

Condé Nast Traveler highlighted several of Chicago’s features, including its architecture, museums, culinary scene, and brewing industry. The magazine also noted that the city is home to “some of the most pleasant people you’ll find anywhere.”

Jack Lavin, President and CEO of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, commented on the recognition: “When you look at everything Chicago offers, it’s clear that we stand right there with the best cities in the world,” Lavin said. “And our business community has played a huge part of this success, because business makes Chicago the global city that it is today. Chicago is the greatest city in which to live, work, play — and call home.”

More than 575,000 votes were submitted by Condé Nast Traveler readers for this year’s survey. The publication has conducted these awards for 37 years.
