Chicago named best big U.S. city by Condé Nast Traveler

Condé Nast Traveler readers have once again recognized Chicago as the Best Big U.S. City for 2024. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Chicago has received this accolade since it first claimed the title in 2017.

The publication highlighted Chicago's "impressive architecture, first-rate museums, brilliant chefs, and massive brewing scene," while also noting that the city is home to "some of the most pleasant people you’ll find anywhere."

Jack Lavin, President and CEO of the Chamber, expressed no surprise at this recognition. "When you look at everything Chicago offers, it’s clear that we stand right there with the best cities in the world," Lavin stated. He emphasized the role of the business community in contributing to Chicago's status as a global city. "Chicago is the greatest city in which to live, work, play — and call home," he added.

The annual survey conducted by Condé Nast Traveler garnered more than 575,000 votes from its readers this year. The magazine has been running this survey for 37 years.
