The University of Illinois Chicago has announced plans to redesign its main website, uic.edu, as well as its news and information site, today.uic.edu. The initiative is led by the university's Strategic Marketing and Communications department.
According to the announcement, the redesign aims to improve user experience not only on these flagship sites but also across the Red website platform, which serves many schools and units within UIC. The goal is to enhance engagement with prospective students and other stakeholders while strengthening how the university presents itself online.
A survey has been launched to collect feedback from faculty and staff about their experiences with the current web platforms. The survey will remain open until September 24 and is expected to take less than ten minutes to complete.
"This is a collaborative journey — one designed for us to listen, learn and reflect the perspectives of our students, faculty and staff as we envision the future of UIC’s web presence," reads the statement. "Your voices and insights will shape how we share UIC’s story in Chicago and beyond."
The redesign project intends to create a model for future improvements across other digital properties associated with UIC.
