Steve Larmer and Duncan Keith named to inaugural Blackhawks Hall of Fame class

Steve Larmer and Duncan Keith have been elected to the Chicago Blackhawks Hall of Fame, the organization announced. Larmer was chosen from the Heritage ballot, while Keith was selected from the Modern ballot through voting by fans, alumni, and media.

“We are beyond proud to announce the inaugural Blackhawks Hall of Fame class will include Steve Larmer and Duncan Keith,” said Danny Wirtz, Blackhawks Chairman and CEO. “The incredible participation we saw from Blackhawks fans, Alumni and media is a testament to the lasting influence that each of these individuals have had on our storied franchise.”

The first Hall of Fame class will also feature nine other former players whose numbers have been retired by the club: Glenn Hall (#1), Pierre Pilote and Keith Magnuson (#3), Chris Chelios (#7), Bobby Hull (#9), Denis Savard (#18), Stan Mikita (#21), Tony Esposito (#35) and Marian Hossa (#81). These players received automatic induction due to their retired status.

Honorees will be recognized at a ceremony on April 11 during a home game against the St. Louis Blues. The event will include pregame activities focused on their contributions to the team.

The new Hall of Fame will serve as an institution dedicated to recognizing those who have shaped the team's history over its century-long existence. It will feature a permanent exhibition space at Fifth Third Arena.

Tickets for single games in the 2025-26 season are now available through Ticketmaster. Full Season Ticket Memberships provide guaranteed access to all promotional events this season, including Hall of Fame night. Additional ticket plans are also offered at https://www.blackhawks.com/Membership.

Larmer played with Chicago from 1980-93 and holds several franchise records, including most power play goals (153). He ranks fourth in goals (406), fifth in points (923), seventh in assists (517) over 891 games, and played 884 consecutive regular-season games for Chicago—the seventh-longest such streak in NHL history. His streak of eleven straight seasons with at least 70 points is a club record; only eight other NHL players have matched this feat league-wide.

“One of the most prolific scorers the team has ever seen, Steve set the bar for what it means to be a Blackhawk,” Wirtz said. “From his remarkable production to his extraordinary iron-man streak, Steve quietly laid the foundation for generations of future Blackhawks players and fans alike.”

Larmer was drafted by Chicago in 1980 and won multiple individual honors early in his career. He later won a Stanley Cup with another team but remains notable for his achievements with Chicago.

Keith joined Chicago after being selected in 2002 and leads all franchise defensemen in games played (1,192). He is second among defensemen in assists (520) and points (625), third in goals (105), and holds postseason records among blueliners for games played (135), assists (68) and points (86).

“An anchor of three Stanley Cups, Duncan’s impact on the game of hockey is nothing short of astounding,” Wirtz said. “Through his elite playmaking, grit and leadership both on and off the ice, Duncan helped shape a modern dynasty while cementing himself as one of the best to ever play.”

Keith helped lead Chicago to three Stanley Cup championships—2010, 2013, and 2015—and scored a decisive goal in Game 6 against Tampa Bay Lightning during their last championship run. His personal accolades include two Norris Memorial Trophies as best defenseman and selection among NHL’s top players during its centennial celebration. Keith was recently named part of https://www.hhof.com/htmlInduct/inductees2025.shtml Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

The Hall’s physical exhibit aims to connect different generations by commemorating those who have represented or contributed significantly to the franchise’s identity.
