Richard J. Daley College President Dr. Janine Janosky recently participated as a panelist at the SME Fusion Manufacturing Workforce Event in Detroit. On the panel titled “Connecting with Hidden Talent & Building Your Talent Pipeline,” President Janosky highlighted the innovative strategies community colleges are using to engage with underrepresented groups and address the increasing needs of the manufacturing workforce.
The discussion revolved around discovering hidden talent, overcoming systemic obstacles, and enhancing workforce pipelines through accessible training opportunities and comprehensive support services. Dr. Janosky stressed the critical position of community colleges in connecting education with industry demand.
"Building a strong workforce talent pipeline means considering and including all populations," she stated. "At Daley College, we’re thinking and creating innovatively, partnering with local organizations and manufacturers, designing targeted programs, and ensuring students have the resources they need to succeed in college and on the job."
