The Chicago Blackhawks have traded forward Lukas Reichel to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft. The move was announced by the Blackhawks on October 24, 2025.
Reichel, who is 23 years old, played five games for the Blackhawks during the 2025-26 season and recorded four points with two goals and two assists. This performance placed him fourth on the team in goals, fifth in assists, and sixth in points.
Over five seasons with Chicago, Reichel accumulated 58 points, including 22 goals and 36 assists, across 174 NHL regular-season games. In addition to his NHL experience, he played for the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, where he tallied 116 points—42 goals and 74 assists—in 121 regular-season games. Reichel also participated in three Calder Cup Playoff runs with Rockford, registering seven points from five goals and two assists in 14 postseason games.
Originally from Nurnberg, Germany, Reichel was drafted by Chicago as the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft.
With this trade, Chicago now holds nine selections in the 2026 NHL Draft, which includes two first-round picks, three second-round picks, one third-round pick, one fourth-round pick, and two seventh-round picks. For the 2027 NHL Draft, the team has seven picks: one each in the first, third, fourth, sixth, and seventh rounds, as well as two second-round picks.
