Michael Connelly, an adjunct professor at Richard J. Daley College’s Manufacturing, Technology, Engineering Center (MTEC), has been named president of the International Metallographic Society (IMS). Connelly is recognized as an ASM Technical Fellow (FASM) and a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
The IMS brings together professionals from around the world who are interested in metallography and materials analysis. The organization offers technical resources, continuing education, and networking opportunities for those in the field. As president, Connelly will lead the society in its efforts to promote excellence and innovation in materials science.
City Colleges of Chicago extended congratulations to Connelly for this recognition. According to the college, "His deep expertise and leadership in metallography are a benefit to his manufacturing students, who are the next generation of manufacturing and materials professionals."
