The University of Alabama at Birmingham recently hosted the fifth annual Systemwide mental health and well-being event on October 9. The event featured Rebecca Kennedy, PhD, who serves as the assistant vice president for student health and well-being at the university. During her keynote address, Kennedy discussed "health-promoting universities" and suggested steps to enhance health and well-being within institutions.
A follow-up presentation titled “Sparking Change: Empowering our Flames to Promote Mental Health and Well-being” has been announced. This session will highlight findings from the Healthy Minds Study and explore how UIC plans to use this data to foster positive changes in the community.
The presentations are scheduled for November 12 at Student Center East and November 13 at Student Center West, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Attendees are requested to RSVP by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 1. Virtual participation options will be available for those unable to attend in person.
Attendees are encouraged to share this information with colleagues and peers.
Stay well,
