Liz Cheney to speak at Northwestern Law on defending democracy

Former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney will speak at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law as part of the Knox Conversations speaker series. The event, titled “Defending Democracy: A Conversation with Liz Cheney,” is scheduled for Friday, September 5, at Thorne Auditorium on the Chicago campus.

Cheney, who played a prominent role in national politics during her time in Congress, will discuss her personal convictions, experiences in Congress, and thoughts on policy and leadership. She will also address the challenges facing bipartisanship and the future of American democracy. The conversation will be moderated by Paul Meister (JD ’87), vice chairman of GCM Grosvenor.

According to the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, “The Knox Conversations speaker series was established to create space for an open exchange of ideas, public debate and respectful discourse on matters of importance to the legal and Law School community.”

The event is open to members of the media who RSVP by Wednesday, August 27. Those interested should contact Shanice Harris at shanice.harris@northwestern.edu.
