The Chicago Blackhawks have confirmed a two-year contract extension with forward Landon Slaggert. The agreement is set to last through the 2026-27 season, with a salary cap hit of $900,000.
Slaggert, aged 22, played in 16 games for the Blackhawks during the 2023-24 season. During this time, he achieved four points, consisting of one goal and three assists. His first NHL point was an assist recorded on March 26 against Calgary, and his first NHL goal came on April 10 in St. Louis. Concurrently, Slaggert participated in 36 games at the University of Notre Dame during the same season, achieving personal bests with 20 goals and a total of 31 points. He led his team in points while ranking seventh in assists.

Over his collegiate career from 2020 to 2024 at Notre Dame, Slaggert appeared in 136 games and accumulated a total of 92 points from 47 goals and 45 assists. He served as an alternate captain from 2022 to 2024 and contributed to Notre Dame's appearances in the NCAA Tournament in both 2021 and 2022.
Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Slaggert also represented Team USA at the IIHF World Junior Championship. In seven games during the championship held in 2021, he helped secure gold for Team USA. He also scored six points over five games for Team USA at the same championship event in 2022.
Landon Slaggert was initially drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks as their third-round pick (79th overall) during the NHL Draft in 2020.
