UIC offers flu shots for eligible employees and retirees in October

Marie Lynn Miranda UIC Chancellor | University Of Illinois At Chicago

State of Illinois employees and retirees who are enrolled in the Quality Care Health Plan (QCHP) or state-sponsored managed care plans, including HMO or OAP, can receive seasonal flu shots at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). The program does not cover dependents, spouses, contractual workers, volunteers, consultants, part-time employees not enrolled in a group insurance plan, or students. Employees who have opted out of state health insurance coverage are also excluded from eligibility.

The flu shot clinics will operate as walk-in services. Employees must bring their university or state-sponsored health insurance card and proof of university employment such as an i-Card. Retirees and survivors need to present their university or state-sponsored health insurance card along with a state ID or driver’s license.

Flu shots will be available on two dates and locations: October 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Student Center West, Thompson Room C (828 S. Wolcott St.), and October 14, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Student Center East, Cardinal Room 329 (750 S. Halsted St.).
