Steve Carell addresses Northwestern University's 167th commencement at United Center

Northwestern University held its 167th annual commencement ceremony at the United Center in Chicago on June 15. The event marked the second consecutive year the venue hosted the ceremony. Over 2,500 graduates were celebrated by family, friends, and supporters who filled the arena.

The commencement address was delivered by actor and comedian Steve Carell. In his speech, Carell emphasized the power of kindness, stating, "kindness isn't a weakness—it is a very potent strength." He also advised graduates to transform their insecurities into positive actions: "turn your jealousy into admiration and use it to fuel your ambition in a positive way."

In addition to delivering the address, Carell received an honorary degree along with three other individuals.
