Educators urged to submit course materials for summer and fall 2025

Summer and fall 2025 registrations are ongoing, and educators are encouraged to submit their course material adoptions promptly. Ensuring students have timely access to the necessary materials is a critical component of their academic achievements. According to the announcement, "student success is our top priority, and timely access to course materials plays a crucial role in their academic journey."

Students, including those with scholarships from the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Human Services, and Veterans Affairs, along with student-athletes, often depend on the campus bookstore for their resources. Educators are urged to "help us ensure that all students are prepared to start the semester strong by making sure that your materials have been submitted."

Follett Discover, accessible through Blackboard or myUIC, allows instructors to submit, reorder, or indicate the absence of required materials. Early submission helps maintain affordable course materials, enabling the bookstore to provide used and rental inventory. This practice supports the Higher Education Opportunity Act Textbook Provision. Moreover, the university promotes the use of Open Educational Resources when suitable, directing educators to the University Library’s website for further information.

For any technical support or queries regarding textbook orders, educators are advised to contact Lisette Martinez, the course materials manager, at lmarti9@uic.edu or l.martinez@follett.com.

Concluding the announcement, appreciation is extended for the ongoing support of students: "Thank you for your continuous support of our students."
