UIC seeks input on new learning management system choice

Learning Technology Solutions at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking input from the university community to select a new Learning Management System (LMS). Over recent weeks, Anthology's Blackboard Ultra and Instructure's Canvas have been showcased through on-campus workshops. These sessions provided participants with information and opportunities for hands-on testing.

More than 600 faculty, staff, and students have engaged in evaluating both platforms. They explored features, compared user experiences, transferred content, and assessed which system aligns best with UIC's needs.

The university now invites further feedback from its community. Whether individuals participated in the testing or have previous experience with these LMS platforms, their opinions are welcomed.

The survey will be open from February 24 to March 3. Participants can access it via a link requiring their UIC NetID and password. The survey requests basic demographic details such as name, email, role, and college affiliation. It also asks about involvement in the initial testing phases or any experience with either platform.

The survey concludes by asking respondents to choose between Canvas or Blackboard Ultra for UIC's adoption. Two optional questions allow for additional comments.
