Sue Ling Gin Center Director on: FFG CEO's 'generous support is igniting curiosity'

Aimee Davis, Senior Director of the Sue Ling Gin Center for Education at the Field Museum, said that Flying Food Group (FFG) CEO David Cotton’s donation is fostering curiosity and inspiring future scientists. This statement was made via an email on January 27.

"Your generous support is igniting curiosity, inspiring Chicago's future scientists, and creating moments of wonder and discovery," said Davis, Senior Director, Sue Ling Gin Center for Education and Public Programs. "Together, we're building a stronger, more inclusive foundation for learning and discovery."

According to Candid, The Sue Ling Gin Foundation Trust, funded by profits from FFG, donated $20 million to the Field Museum. This represents the largest gift to its education department and has led to its renaming as the Sue Ling Gin Center for Education & Public Programs. "This extraordinary demonstration of generosity…will ensure that every Chicago child experiences the thrill of discovery," said Julian Siggers, president of the Field Museum of Natural History.

The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago is one of the world's largest natural history museums, housing over 24 million specimens and artifacts. It offers extensive educational programs and serves approximately 400,000 students annually. The museum's mission is to connect all individuals to the natural world and human history.

The Sue Ling Gin Foundation Trust continues the philanthropic legacy of its founder, Sue Ling Gin. Funded entirely by profits from FFG, it supports education and community initiatives, including a $25,000 annual scholarship through the International Flight Services Association (IFSA) Foundation to help students pursue higher education. Since its establishment, FFG has donated over $100,000 to scholarship recipients, as reported by Business Daily.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Davis leads initiatives in public engagement, STEM education, and community outreach at the Field Museum.
