UIC seeks nominations for honorary degree awards

The Senate External Relations and Public Service Committee is calling for nominations for honorary degrees at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). These degrees represent the highest accolade given by UIC, recognizing outstanding contributions to academia, public service, or UIC's mission in teaching, research, service, and economic development.

Nominations are open to individuals with national or international recognition. While a connection to UIC is beneficial, it is not mandatory. However, nominators must clearly articulate why the nominee merits this honor from UIC.

Details on eligibility criteria and nomination procedures are available online. The deadline for submitting nominations and supporting documents is noon on Monday, December 2. Submissions should be marked “CONFIDENTIAL: HONORARY DEGREES” and sent electronically to Senate Coordinator and Clerk at edooley@uic.edu.

The committee encourages diverse nominations from all UIC colleges and campuses.
