UIC offers flu vaccine clinics for eligible employees and retirees

State of Illinois employees and retirees who are enrolled in the Quality Care Health Plan or state-sponsored managed care plans, including Health Maintenance Organizations or Open Access Plans, can receive seasonal flu shots. However, dependents, spouses, contractual workers, volunteers, consultants, part-time employees not enrolled in a group insurance plan, and students are not eligible for this program. Additionally, employees who have opted out of health insurance coverage through the state cannot participate.

These clinics do not require appointments as they operate on a walk-in basis. Employees must present their health insurance card from their university/state-sponsored health plan along with verification of university employment (i-card). Retirees and survivors need to show their university/state-sponsored health insurance card and either a state ID or driver's license.

The flu shots will be administered at two locations:

- On the east side of campus: Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Student Center East – Cardinal Room 329 located at 750 S. Halsted St.

- On the west side of campus: Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Student Center West – Thompson Rooms ABC situated at 828 S. Wolcott St.
