Since Amazon launched Career Choice, its education and career advancement benefit, it has helped more than 200,000 employees achieve their educational goals. They have obtained high school/GED diplomas, associate and bachelor’s degrees, and certifications.

According to an article published in Amazon’s News Workplace channel, Career Choice provides prepaid tuition as well as reimbursements of books and fees. The program offers a network of more than 600 education partners around the world. Employees need only choose the program and learning modality to fit their goals and schedule.

The article states that the Career Choice high school/GED programs are offered in partnership with schools nationwide. The programs are provided online and instructed by certified teachers. They also give students access to advisors and tutors.

Through Career Choice, employees can pursue undergraduate academic certificates and associate and bachelor’s degrees. In cooperation with Amazon’s Campus Next internship program, Career Choice provides students with the opportunity to gain firsthand, practical experience to increase their competitiveness in the job market.

Finally, according to the article, with the Career Choice Pathways programs, employees gain practical knowledge and skills required to secure employment in high-demand industries, from IT support and pharmacy to mechatronics. More than 113,000 employees have earned certifications through these upskilling programs since 2012 when the programs launched.
