During the village board meeting, Tinley Park honored two neighborhood businesses, including Mary Mucci's Arts & Crafts Studio by Mucci World, which provides painting instruction, therapy art, entertaining splash rooms for stress release and much more. 

The company, which has been operating in the community for eight years, has seen a threefold increase in traffic, owner Mary Mucci told the board. The studio is now a popular tourist destination for out-of-towners. Mucci expressed her gratitude to everyone who has motivated her and helped the company over the last several years

"We have added five new artists, local artists that have been with us for a little while now,"  Mucci said. "We have the kids' day off, the open studio, the Splat Room, which is very exciting, where you get to throw paint at the wall or each other if you want to. I've had a lot of couples come in for that one. It's not [just] for little kids, but for everyone. So you'll enjoy that part. But so we're always adding new things to our offerings. And if you had an idea or wanted to see something new, you just have to let us know and we'll see if we can do it."

The second company is "Best at Training Studio," which is owned and operated by Naland Best and provides a range of fitness classes and programs for people of all ages and skill levels.

Naland Best, operator of Best at Training Studio, came to thank the board for the honor as well. Among many other things, they offer classes in yoga, Crossfit and boxing. After leaving the Navy, Best started working as a personal trainer. He developed his method to enable him to assist his clients in reaching their fitness objectives.
