Officials with the Village of Tinley Park welcomed a new firefighter, recognized IT employees and celebrated a promotion during a recent board meeting on Nov. 15.
Joined by his wife and children, firefighter Adam Sobieray was sworn in as a member of the Tinley Park Fire Department during the meeting.
"So Adam made his one year probation, but by no means is he a new firefighter," Fire Chief Steve Klotz said during the meeting. "He's been doing this job for a while at the University of Park, so he brings us all his knowledge and has done a fantastic job."
Firefighters John Brennan and Matthew Sutkus will also be joining the department and will be sworn in at a future meeting.
Members of the information technology department were honored with a Certificate of Recognition for ranking among the top 10 cities of its municipality size in the Center for Digital Government's 2022 Top Ten Digital Cities Survey. During the meeting, board members commended Department Head Anthony Adrolino and his staff.
Brandi Azbill was also promoted to assistant finance director at the meeting. Azbill has more than 15 years experience working for municipalities and most recently served as an assistant finance director for another town.
