Virtue Restaurant, a Southern American black-owned restaurant in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, recently brought back the holiday menu for Thanksgiving.

"Let us take care of your Thanksgiving feast! Our holiday pick-up menu is back with a delicious menu of all your favorites," Virtue wrote in a Nov. 14 Facebook post.

The owner and chef of Virtue Restaurant is Chef Erick Williams, who describes his love for cooking on Virtue's website: “It was once said to me by my father that the search for equality is found through common ground, and sharing a meal is a universal expression of respect and dignity.” Started in 2018, Chef Williams combined his love for fine dining and Southern food into one creative space. Before Virtue, Chef Williams was the executive chef at MK The Restaurant in Chicago’s River North neighborhood where he received awards and recognition.

According to Virtue's website, one of their mottos is gratitude; a quote from Frederick Douglas is posted on their page: “Where there is no struggle there is no progress." Virtue gives credit to their ancestors for the hard work and perseverance that got them to where they are now. 

Virtue is located at 1462 E 53rd St., Chicago, Illinois 60615. The restaurant is now accepting orders for Christmas feasts which can be placed online.
