Chicago Blackhawks to host “The Originals” Centennial Chapter Night honoring hockey innovations

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced details for “The Originals” Centennial Chapter Night, which will take place on Saturday, November 15. The event coincides with the team’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, another member of the NHL’s Original Six.

The event is part of the Blackhawks’ season-long centennial celebration and is presented by American Express. According to the organization, “The Originals” will recognize the team’s key contributions to hockey history, such as introducing the first goal horn and pioneering playing techniques. The focus will be on players and leaders who have helped shape both the Blackhawks and the sport.

These include Bobby Hull’s and Stan Mikita’s curved sticks, Tony Esposito’s game-worn equipment, and trophies won by Stan Mikita during his career with the Blackhawks. Interactive activities and photo opportunities will also be available.

At 4:30 p.m., United Center gates open, and the first 8,000 fans inside will receive a Tony Esposito bobblehead courtesy of American Express.

A Q&A session hosted by Blackhawks TV broadcaster Darren Pang is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. in the Atrium. Participants include family members of former Blackhawks legends as well as an appearance by alum Denis Savard.

Fans are encouraged to be seated by 5:30 p.m. for a special pregame ceremony emceed by former broadcaster Pat Foley. The ceremony will honor innovation throughout Blackhawks history and feature relatives of original players along with two alumni guests.
