The Chicago Blackhawks have entered into a multi-year partnership with GOVX, an eCommerce platform and membership program that offers savings to military personnel and first responders. GOVX will become the presenting partner of the Blackhawks’ Hero Salute program. This initiative recognizes active and veteran military members at every home game during the team's national anthem tradition, followed by individual recognition during the game.
This agreement builds on an existing ticketing relationship between GOVX and the Blackhawks, which has focused on serving local servicemembers. GOVX currently serves more than 11 million members and works with over 5,000 partners annually. The company has raised over $2 million for nonprofits supporting veterans, families, first responders, and other professional heroes.
“We are thrilled to welcome GOVX as the Presenting Partner of our Hero Salute, honoring veterans and active military members across Chicagoland,” said Matt Gray, Executive Vice President of Revenue and Strategy for the Blackhawks. “Our longstanding partnership on the ticketing front has been incredibly powerful, and we’re excited to expand that relationship in a way that celebrates their mission and connects them more deeply with our fanbase.”
“As the Presenting Sponsor of the Hero Salute, we’re proud to stand alongside the Blackhawks in celebrating the service and sacrifice of our nation's active-duty military, veterans, and first responders all season long, and in the years ahead," said Aaron Pelander, Chief Brand Officer at GOVX.
GOVX was founded in 2011 with a mission to provide exclusive benefits to those who help keep communities safe. Its membership includes US Military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, educators, government workers, and medical professionals.
