Illinois Tech women’s soccer repeats as NACC champions and secures NCAA tournament spot

The Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team has secured the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) tournament title for the second consecutive year. The championship match, held on November 8 at Stuart Field in Chicago, saw Illinois Tech defeat Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-1.

With this victory, Illinois Tech improved its season record to 19 wins, one loss, and one draw. The win also guarantees the Scarlet Hawks a place in the NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament for the second year in a row. Their first match in the national tournament will be against Grove City College on November 14 at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Calvin University will also host Penn State Behrend later that day as part of a four-team regional competition. Winners from Friday’s games will compete for the regional championship on November 15.

Illinois Tech's advancement comes after a successful previous season where they made their debut in the NCAA Division III tournament and reached the Sweet 16.

In Saturday’s game, Mary Frampton, Kayla Smith, and Eva Narvarte each scored for Illinois Tech. Goalkeeper Kayla Hampton recorded two saves during the match. The team also achieved its second straight NACC regular-season title with an undefeated conference record of 12-0.
