Stacey Abrams, a well-known voting rights activist and founder of Fair Fight Action, will speak at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law as part of the Knox Conversations speaker series. The event, titled “Politics: Building the Future We Want — A Conversation with Stacey Abrams,” is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at Thorne Auditorium on Northwestern’s Chicago campus.
Abrams has focused her career on addressing voter suppression in the United States, particularly in Georgia where she served in the House of Representatives for ten years. During the upcoming conversation, she will discuss topics such as problem-solving for everyday people, how business and politics intersect, and ways individuals can help shape political futures.
Sherrese Smith, Global Managing Partner at Paul Hastings LLP and a Northwestern Law alumna, will moderate the discussion. The event is intended to foster open dialogue and debate on important legal issues within the law school community.
The Knox Conversations series is held annually to encourage respectful discourse on significant matters affecting both the legal field and broader society.
Members of the media who wish to attend must RSVP by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 by emailing Shanice Harris. The program will be presented in person only.
