UIC opens nominations for Inventor of the Year Award

Marie Lynn Miranda UIC Chancellor | University Of Illinois At Chicago

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is currently accepting nominations for its Inventor of the Year Award. The award recognizes UIC faculty members or research teams who have worked with the UIC Office of Technology Management through the invention disclosure process.

To be eligible, nominees must be primary inventors or creators of a technology disclosure at UIC and must have conducted significant research at the university that has advanced knowledge in their field and benefited society. Nominations can be submitted by anyone within the UIC community who is familiar with a successful inventor, and self-nominations are also welcome.

Applicants are required to submit a completed nomination award application along with a statement explaining why the nominee should be considered for the award. Strong applications should include background information about the inventor, details about the invention, current status of intellectual property and licensing, as well as an explanation of how the invention has impacted its field and society.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, December 19, by 5 p.m.
