UIC partners with Kaplan to offer free test prep and career courses

Marie Lynn Miranda UIC Chancellor | University Of Illinois At Chicago

Since spring 2025, the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) has collaborated with Kaplan to provide students free access to test preparation and career readiness resources through the “Prepare for Illinois’ Future Powered by Kaplan’s All Access License” program. According to UIC, this initiative has resulted in savings of over $12 million for Illinois students on exam preparation and career development materials.

The program allows students to prepare for more than 40 graduate admissions, licensure, and credentialing exams. It also offers skills development courses at no cost. Registration for these resources is open until February 28, 2026.

An orientation session hosted by Kaplan will be held on Tuesday, September 9, where participants can learn how to support UIC students using these free resources. Registration is required for the session.

Students interested in exploring available courses or seeking guidance on how to use these services can visit the Kaplan webpage for Illinois students.

Michael Ginsburg, Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Student Affairs at UIC, stated: "Join Kaplan orientation sessions to learn how to support UIC students with free Kaplan test and career prep resources. The next session is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9. Registration is required."
