Michael M. Edwards President & CEO | Chicago Loop Alliance
Chicago Loop Alliance has announced the full lineup for its event series, Sundays on State. The events will take place on September 7 and October 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., along State Street between Jackson and Randolph. These events are free and open to the public.
Sundays on State is organized by Chicago Loop Alliance in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Chicago Loop Alliance Foundation, and Special Service Area #1-2015. Sponsors include Allstate Insurance Company, Macy’s, Target, Block 37, Catalog, Faegre Drinker, Flyover, Millennium Garages, and Walgreens.
The event offers an interactive block party featuring art, culture, food, drinks, shopping, and local attractions. Mayor Brandon Johnson said it "gathers Chicagoans on one of the city’s most iconic thoroughfares."
The street activations feature submissions from community members and include a significant percentage of underrepresented business owners: 74% women-owned businesses, 31% minority-owned businesses, and 11% LGBTQ+-owned businesses.
