The Chicago Blackhawks have unveiled their Centennial jerseys, which will be worn for home games at the United Center during the 2025-26 season to commemorate the franchise's 100th anniversary. The jerseys reflect the theme of "Always an Original," celebrating a century of history and innovation that has established the Blackhawks as a notable team in hockey.
Blackhawks Chairman and CEO Danny Wirtz stated, "The Blackhawks sweater has consistently been voted the best jersey in sports by players and fans alike. For our Centennial season, we wanted to honor that iconic symbol of Chicago’s hockey heritage that has remained largely unchanged since 1955." He added that while classic elements remain, new design details blend past and present traditions.
The limited-edition design incorporates gold accents around the chain-stitched crest and back numbers, a nod to early Blackhawks sweaters. A Centennial shoulder patch commemorates Chicago's 100 years of hockey, with a metallic gold secondary mark on the opposite shoulder. The jersey also features a vintage lace-up collar with an "Always an Original" message inside, paying homage to past designs while looking forward.
Inside the hem are references to six Stanley Cup victories and a metallic gold tag highlighting the team's championship legacy. This special edition jersey is available for preorder on CBHShop.com, where fans can receive a commemorative puck with their purchase.
The jerseys will debut at the team's Home Opener during a season-long celebration divided into four chapters. These events will highlight significant periods in Blackhawks history through themed game nights, bobbleheads, giveaways, rare memorabilia stories, interviews with iconic figures, and more.
As part of this celebration, the Blackhawks announced plans to establish an official Hall of Fame honoring individuals who have significantly contributed to the team's legacy. Fans can participate in voting for inaugural inductees at Blackhawks.com/HOF.
Details about upcoming Centennial chapters and promotions for the 2025-26 season will be released after the NHL announces its game schedule later this summer. Season Ticket Memberships are available for those wishing to ensure access to select gameday experiences.
