Chicagoland Chamber supports Mike McMurray’s appointment as aviation commissioner

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce has expressed support for the appointment of Mike McMurray as the new Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation. Jack Lavin, President and CEO of the Chamber, highlighted McMurray's extensive experience and leadership qualities as key assets for advancing Chicago's aviation infrastructure.

Lavin emphasized Chicago's strategic position as a transportation hub, noting that its dual airport system is crucial for the region's business community. "Chicago is the crossroads of America, and our geographic position and strong transportation options, especially our dual airport system, are vital to the success of our region’s business community," he stated.

As modernization efforts continue at both O'Hare and Midway Airports, Lavin expressed confidence in McMurray's ability to lead these projects effectively. He remarked on McMurray's deep understanding of the transportation sector and his leadership skills as instrumental in ensuring that these initiatives contribute to economic growth, job creation, and an enhanced passenger experience.

The Chamber looks forward to collaborating with McMurray and city officials to maintain Chicago's status as a premier destination for business, tourism, and investment. "We look forward to supporting his work and collaborating with the City to ensure Chicago remains a world-class destination for business, tourism, and investment," Lavin concluded.
