A team from Chicago-Kent College of Law secured first place at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office’s 10th Annual Mock Trial Competition held on March 9–10, 2025. The event took place in the Queens Criminal Court, New York, and saw participation from 17 other nationally ranked law schools.
The winning team comprised John Travlos ’26, Aidan Boyle ’26, Kathryn Connors ’26, and Allyson Weubbe ’26. Judges from the New York Supreme and Criminal courts presided over the proceedings, while senior prosecutors and defense bar members evaluated the competitors.
Connors and Weubbe acted as prosecutors in their victory against William and Mary School of Law in the first round. Travlos and Boyle continued as prosecutors to defeat Emory University School of Law, Fordham University School of Law, the University of Houston Law Center, and Pace University Elisabeth Haub School of Law in subsequent rounds.
Aidan Boyle was also recognized individually with the Best Oral Advocate award for his performance in the final round.
The team's success was guided by coaches Rachael Sinnen ’11, Warren Fasone ’18, and Madeleine Fontenot ’24.
Chicago-Kent's trial advocacy program holds a national ranking of #12 according to U.S. News & World Report's 2024 rankings. Established in 1971 by Honorable Warren D. Wolfson, a former Illinois Appellate Court justice, it is currently led by David A. Erickson, also a retired Illinois Appellate Court justice.
