UIC encourages student participation in sexual misconduct climate survey

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is conducting a survey to gather information on sexual misconduct and the experiences of students on campus. This initiative seeks to involve students in creating a safer environment by participating in the Sexual Misconduct Campus Climate Survey.

Students who have received the email invitation are encouraged to complete the survey by Friday, March 21. The survey can be accessed online through the provided link or by copying and pasting the URL into a web browser: https://uic.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cx69bASfwBnY3ZQ.

Karen Colley, PhD, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, along with Michael Ginsburg, PhD, Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Student Affairs, and Caryn Bills-Windt, Associate Chancellor for Access and Equity, emphasize the importance of this 15-minute survey. They note it plays a crucial role in helping UIC address issues related to sexual misconduct.

"If taking the survey makes you feel distressed or encourages you to report sexual misconduct that you know has occurred," they advise contacting the Title IX Office at 312-996-8670 or titleix@uic.edu. An online report form is also available for those wishing to report incidents.

Participants completing the survey will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for one of fifty $20 Amazon electronic gift cards as an incentive.

The university leaders express gratitude for student participation: "Thanks for your consideration and willingness to make UIC a better place for everyone."
