Northwestern medical students prepare for Match Day celebration

The annual Match Day event for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, March 21. During this event, graduating medical students will receive envelopes revealing their residency training locations for the next three to seven years.

"Visual story to cover (view a video from last year’s Match Day celebration)," reads a note about the event, indicating that media coverage is encouraged. The event will see 150 medical students open their envelopes at 11 a.m., capturing reactions as they learn about their residency assignments.

"B-roll and interview clips will be provided shortly after the event," according to organizers. Although the event is private, members of the media are invited to attend, with an RSVP required by emailing Ben Schamisso at ben.schamisso@northwestern.edu. A media sign-in desk will be available near the north entrance on Superior Street.

The Match Day Celebration for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine will take place in the Potocsnak Family Atrium on the first floor of Simpson and Querrey Biomedical Research Center located at 303 E. Superior Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Match Day is an annual occurrence at 157 medical schools across the United States where fourth-year medical students learn about their residency placements through the National Residents Matching Program.
