Taylor Street roadwork update: new concrete bus pads and sidewalk replacements

The Chicago Department of Transportation has issued an update regarding upcoming roadwork on Taylor Street, scheduled to begin next week. The activities will proceed as weather conditions allow.

The department plans to resume saw cutting of curbs and sidewalks. Additionally, three new concrete bus pads are set for construction on eastbound Taylor Street, between Oakley Boulevard and Damen Avenue.

Sidewalk and curb removal and replacement is planned for the stretch from Wood Street to Racine Avenue on eastbound Taylor Street. Notably, on Monday, March 10, work will occur across from the patient drop-off area at Taylor Street and Hermitage Avenue. Flaggers will be present to assist pedestrians, with "sidewalk closed" signs posted on the south side of Taylor Street.

The intersection at Paulina and Taylor streets will see sidewalk replacements at all four corners, undertaken one at a time to maintain pedestrian safety.

Concrete work will continue along eastbound Taylor Street toward Racine Avenue.

Travelers in these areas are advised to exercise caution during active construction for their own safety and that of others.

The department expressed gratitude for public cooperation as the work progresses.
