On February 8, 2025, South Shore celebrated the opening of Pen & Paper: A Joint Creative. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place from 12 PM to 2 PM at 6900 S. Stony Island Ave., attracting artists, entrepreneurs, and community members. This new space is designed for creativity and collaboration.
The event was marked by the enthusiasm of attendees eager to see Pen & Paper unveiled. The project is a collaboration between Da Book Joint, Stoviink Creatives, and South Shore Special Service Area 42 (SSA42), aiming to serve as a center for artistic expression, literary engagement, and innovation.
Dr. Carol Adams featured prominently in the celebration with a book signing and reading session from her latest work, “That’s All She Wrote: Reflections and Remembrances.” Her words resonated with the audience, adding a significant literary dimension to the event.
Stoviink Creatives presented “Humans Under Experimentation,” a creativity and wellness demonstration that invited participants to explore artistic expression alongside well-being.
Pen & Paper: A Joint Creative plans to support artistic collaborations, host cultural events, and encourage creative initiatives within the South Shore community. This launch marks the beginning of an inspiring journey for local creatives.
The organizers extended gratitude to all who attended and supported the launch. They encouraged staying tuned for future events from Pen & Paper as they aim to establish a vibrant creative space in South Shore.
