The Chicago Blackhawks have announced the activation of defenseman Alec Martinez from injured reserve. Martinez, who had been sidelined due to a neck injury, will rejoin the team as they prepare for their upcoming game. In a corresponding move, defenseman Connor Murphy has been placed on injured reserve with a groin injury, effective retroactively from December 31.
Martinez, aged 37, has participated in 15 games during the current season with the Blackhawks and has accumulated four points through one goal and three assists.
The Blackhawks are set to face off against the Edmonton Oilers at the United Center. The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on CHSN. Fans can also listen to live coverage on WGN Radio or tune into Spanish commentary via Latino Media Network radio on 1200 WRTO-AM.
