Blackhawks recall Korchinski and Commesso after placing Mrazek on injured reserve

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that goaltender Petr Mrazek has been placed on injured reserve due to a left groin injury. In response, the team has recalled defenseman Kevin Korchinski and goaltender Drew Commesso from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Kevin Korchinski, aged 20, has accumulated 11 points with two goals and nine assists in 21 games with the IceHogs during the current 2024-25 season. Last season, he made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks on October 10, 2023, in Pittsburgh and played in 76 games, recording five goals and ten assists.

Drew Commesso, who is 22 years old, has participated in ten games for Rockford this season. He holds a record of four wins and six losses, with a goals-against average of 3.34 and a save percentage of .879.

The Chicago Blackhawks are scheduled to play against the New York Rangers tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden. The game will start at 6:00 p.m. CT and can be viewed on CHSN or listened to on WGN Radio.
