A Norridge resident, Richard Corcino, 47, is facing serious charges related to child pornography following an investigation by the Cook County Sheriff's Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced the development on December 5, 2024.

The investigation began in August when ICAC Unit investigators received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip concerned a social media user who uploaded and shared more than a dozen files containing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Investigators traced the social media account to Corcino, residing on the 8100 block of West Strong Street in Norridge. On December 3, authorities arrested Corcino and seized a cell phone from him. A subsequent search of his residence led to the discovery of another cell phone.

Corcino admitted post-arrest that both phones were used to view child pornography. Forensic analysis confirmed the presence of hundreds of videos involving victims under 13 years old.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Corcino with Dissemination of Child Pornography, classified as a Class X Felony, and Possession of Child Pornography, a Class 2 Felony. He appeared at Skokie Courthouse for his initial hearing and was released until his next court appearance scheduled for January 17, 2025.

Since 2020, investigations by the Sheriff’s ICAC Unit have led to charges against 51 individuals for offenses related to child pornography and child victimization.

Authorities remind the public that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
