As GivingTuesday approaches, the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is calling on its community to engage in meaningful participation. The annual event, set for tomorrow, encourages alumni, friends, faculty, and staff to contribute towards initiatives focused on student success and patient care.
This year's campaign emphasizes UIC's mission to provide broad access to educational, research, and clinical excellence. Contributions made through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4th will support efforts to ensure students receive a quality education and graduate with degrees that prepare them for global competition. Additionally, funds will help provide access to world-class healthcare and promote equal health outcomes.
Last year’s GivingTuesday saw 1,454 contributors—comprising alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students, and parents—raise $1.3 million in support of UIC’s mission. This demonstrated how collective efforts can lead to significant impacts.
The primary goal for this year remains participation. Individuals are encouraged to donate any amount or advocate for UIC on social media. A toolkit is available outlining various ways to participate and track progress on the GivingTuesday webpage.
"Thank you," the message concludes with encouragement for the Flames community.
