A Berwyn resident has been charged with possession of child pornography following an investigation by the Cook County Sheriff's Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit. Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced the charges against 30-year-old Cedric Partida-Gudino.
The investigation began earlier this year after the ICAC unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip concerned videos of child pornography downloaded and saved on Partida-Gudino's cloud storage app.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the cloud storage account, confirming Partida-Gudino as the owner and uncovering additional files containing child pornography.
On November 4, investigators interviewed Partida-Gudino. After being read his Miranda rights, he acknowledged ownership of the cellphone linked to the cloud storage app. A forensic analysis of his phone revealed over 100 videos of child pornography, many involving victims under 13 years old. He was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved one count of possession of child pornography, classified as a Class 2 Felony, on Monday. Partida-Gudino appeared in court at Maywood Courthouse for his initial hearing and was ordered detained at Cook County Jail.
Since 2020, investigations by the Sheriff's ICAC Unit have resulted in charges against 50 individuals related to child victimization and pornography cases.
Authorities remind the public that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
