St. Jude launches annual "Thanks and Giving" campaign for holiday season

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has announced its annual "Thanks and Giving" campaign, encouraging people nationwide to support its mission of finding cures and saving children. The hospital emphasizes the importance of community generosity in sustaining its lifesaving work, particularly during the holiday season.

Supporters are invited to join the St. Jude family by participating in various activities designed to engage employees and show corporate support. Since opening in 1962, St. Jude has made significant strides in increasing childhood cancer survival rates from 20% to over 80%. Despite these advancements, the organization continues its efforts until no child succumbs to cancer.

St. Jude's treatments have notably improved survival rates for children with cancer in the United States, where four out of five children survive the disease. However, global disparities remain as only one out of five children survive cancer in many countries. The institution stresses that geographical location should not determine a child's chance of survival.

Families benefiting from St. Jude's services do not receive bills for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus on their child's recovery. During this season of giving, individuals can support St. Jude by donating online or at registers through participating brands such as Domino’s, HomeGoods, Kay Jewelers, AutoZone, and Williams-Sonoma Inc.

Additional ways to contribute include checking if employers match gifts to St. Jude or sending holiday cards to patients and families at the hospital. Estate gifts and donations from trusts or stocks are also welcomed.

For more information on supporting St. Jude's mission this holiday season, interested parties are encouraged to visit their website.
