Keke Palmer, a well-known actress with credits in films such as "Barbershop 2: Back in Business," "Madea’s Family Reunion," and "Akeelah and the Bee," recently shared insights into her financial journey. Despite her early success, Palmer faced financial challenges that led her to file for bankruptcy at the age of 18.
Speaking at the Building Wealth Today for Tomorrow Financial Empowerment Summit on October 12, Palmer discussed how she encountered these issues even with parental guidance and a business manager from the age of 12. She decided to address her financial struggles independently.
Palmer reflected on her experience by saying, “I was so spooked. I was like, ‘What went wrong?’” She described her current approach to finances as living significantly below her means. “If I got $10,000 in the bank, then my house would be $500 a month,” she explained. “That’s how under I mean because I can probably afford something $2,500 maybe, but I’m going way under. You know why? Because I wanna invest in my business.”
The event provided an opportunity for Palmer to share valuable lessons learned from managing personal finances and making strategic investments.
