The Chicago Blackhawks have announced the recall of goaltender Drew Commesso from the Rockford IceHogs, their affiliate in the American Hockey League. Alongside this move, defenseman Isaak Phillips has been assigned to Rockford.
Commesso, aged 22, has participated in two games with the IceHogs during the current 2024-25 season. He holds a record of 1-1-0, with a goals-against average of 3.52 and a save percentage of .854. In the previous season, he played in 38 regular-season games, achieving an 18-16-4 record, with a goals-against average of 2.65 and a save percentage of .906. Additionally, he appeared in three Calder Cup Playoff games for the IceHogs, where he recorded a 1-2-0 record, with a goals-against average of 2.57 and a save percentage of .915.
The Blackhawks are set to face off against the Nashville Predators tonight at the United Center at 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be available for viewing on Hulu/ESPN+ and can be heard on WGN Radio or in Spanish on Latino Media Network radio at 1200 WRTO-AM.
