With the arrival of cooler temperatures, Utilities and Energy Services is set to begin transitioning campus buildings and plants into winter heating mode next week. This process will take several days to complete. If outdoor temperatures exceed 55 degrees after the transition, some buildings may experience discomfort.
The transition period may result in uneven heating and cooling within the same day. Mornings might feel cooler, but conditions are expected to improve as the day progresses. Facilities Management requests that there be no calls made to their call center regarding this issue.
Efforts will be made to maintain indoor temperatures conducive for learning, teaching, and working within the capabilities of building systems.
For further information on how heating and cooling is managed in campus buildings, individuals are encouraged to visit the Energy Management in Existing Facilities webpage.
"Thank you for your cooperation as this work occurs," stated John Coronado, Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services.
