The federal government is providing new funding sources for electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure for municipalities to take advantage of and utilize in their communities, including Southland's Advantage Dealer Group.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a year ago new proposed federal vehicle emissions standards for cars and trucks that will minimize pollution and bolster electric vehicle production in the United States.
Advantage Dealer Group (ADG) seeks to assist local governments in facilitating their needs in preparation of the newly widespread adoption of EVs within their organizations and the communities they serve. AAG proposes to provide streamlined EV fleet services to help Southland communities maximize and maintain said opportunities.
"Electric vehicles—and the charging infrastructure that supports them— offers benefits to Southland communities," Executive manager Krystal Roberts said. "This includes economic development opportunities from offering people a place to charge their vehicles, workforce development, health benefits from improved air quality, and lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. We here at Advantage Dealer Group have both the maintenance facilities and EV stocked inventory that gives communities the clear Advantage"
Advantage Dealer Group is the largest African American-owned Chevrolet franchise dealer in Illinois. Desmond A. Roberts, accompanied by his son Jason Roberts and daughter Krystal Roberts, heads the dealership group that operates Advantage Chevrolet of Hodgkins, Advantage Chevrolet of Bolingbrook, Advantage Chevrolet of Bridgeview, Advantage Toyota of Calumet City, Advantage Acura of Naperville and upcoming Advantage Honda of Fox Lake.
"We welcome the opportunity to work with local businesses such as Advantage Dealer Group as we gear up for the inevitable EV fleet transformation," Hazel Crest Trustee Java Rogers said.
