Today, the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognized Harold Washington College, Harry S Truman College, Kennedy-King College, Olive-Harvey College, and Richard J. Daley College for their nonpartisan democratic engagement efforts that led to high levels of student voter participation in the 2022 midterm elections. Each institution received the Bronze Seal, symbolizing their commitment to integrating nonpartisan democratic engagement into campus life.
Richard J. Daley College was additionally honored with the 2022 Chicago Campus Voting Challenge’s Highest Voting Rate for Community Colleges. Olive-Harvey College earned recognition for achieving the highest voter registration rate among community colleges in Chicago.
The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge aims to empower higher education institutions to excel in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. The five City Colleges were acknowledged alongside more than 500 campuses using data from Tufts University. This data revealed that colleges and universities had the second-highest voter turnout among students in a midterm election since NSLVE began tracking this information.
