The drama surrounding Tinley Park Trustee Diane Galante has continued after Galante and Village Clerk Nancy O'Connor butted heads during a board meeting last month.
During a meeting in November, Galante voiced several complaints and cut off O'Connor as she attempted to address some of Galante's issues.
"You continue to support people who literally have no morals and insult the ones who have worked so hard to gain control of this property so we can put a development out there that would literally change the face of Tinley Park," O'Connor said to Galante during the meeting. "And here you sit and attack us for doing that and support the very, very man who has fought against us for years in gaining control of that property. I think you've really shown your true colors tonight."
Galante claimed she hadn't received any response to recent FOIA requests. She also asked why the board had barred her from participating in board discussions with residents and why she was excluded and banned from attending executive sessions. During the meeting, Galante also claimed she had been harassed by other board members.
O'Conner responded by stating nobody on the board had made unwanted comments about her, her family or harassed her. O'Connor also argued that Galante was not acting in the best interests of the board or Tinley Park community.
Galante was removed from a board meeting back in May following a vote by other board members. The Southland Journal reported that Mayor Michael Glotz addressed an April police report Galante filed against him, claiming Glotz had bullied her after a meeting. He and other board members refuted her claims.
