Community Consolidated School District 146 Board President Darcy Nendza inducted two new board members into the school district's Wall of Fame. Resolutions of honor were read for the recognition of both members. The board unanimously passed both of them, and a short break was held in the middle of the board meeting to celebrate the occasion.
"It is one of our favorite nights as a board and the inspiration behind those folks that have given their careers and done so much for our district," Nendza said.
The first honoree, Mary "Tee" O'Mally, was honored for her career with the school district that began in 1978 and has since spanned nearly 35 years. She was a highly respected physical instructor at Fierke Education Center, and during her time with her current school district, has been lauded for her excellence in education and dedication to creating and maintaining strong and heartfelt connections with students, coworkers, and district families.
The second honoree, Paul German, first began working with District 146 in 1978 and continued for decades before retiring in June 2022. German was a committed historian who made a serious effort to ensure that all students, staff, and coworkers were as prepared as possible to educate and learn throughout their district.
Both O'Mally and German were honored with plaques that now hang on their school building's walls.
